Expo to include expert panel forum
In partnership with PennEnvironment, Senator Tom Killion (R – Chester and Delaware) and Representative Chris Quinn (R – Delaware) will hold a 100 Percent Renewable Energy Expo this coming Saturday, August 3rd from 12 noon until 4:00pm in the Tomezski Classroom Building at Penn State Brandywine, 25 Yearsley Mill Road, Media. The event is free and open to the public.
“Information about renewable energy products and services as well as energy efficiency strategies for homeowners will be available,” said Killion. “With more than two dozen exhibitors expected, we’ll have the latest on exciting new developments in the renewable energy industry.”
PennEnvironment, one of Pennsylvania’s leading environmental protection organizations, will be moderating a forum at 1:30pm on renewable energy with a panel of experts during the expo.
Killion is prime sponsor of Senate Bill 630, which would move Pennsylvania to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. Quinn is co-sponsor of House Bill 1425, an identical bill in the state House of Representatives. This legislative proposal is a priority for PennEnvironment.
“Transitioning to renewable energy is critical to providing a healthier environment for all Pennsylvanians,” noted Killion. “Our state constitution declares ‘the people have a right to clean air, pure water.’ Our event will highlight this important issue and show many other ways we can protect our environment.”
“It is important that residents are made aware of environmental issues that not only affect our community, but the rest of the Commonwealth,” Quinn stated. “We want to inform everyone about what the state is doing to address these issues and also provide information on various renewable energy solutions and products that can be utilized to move our state towards 100 percent renewable energy.”
