Senator Tom Killion today announced a $5,652,282 loan for Chester City’s Stormwater Authority to address flooding and related water quality issues.  The loan is from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).

The $5.6 million loan will be used for structural enhancements to reduce flooding in Chester and to help mitigate water quality degradation in Chester Creek, Ridley Creek and the Delaware River that is caused by the flooding.

“This PENNVEST funding will help Chester with stormwater management issues while lessening the flooding that occurs in local neighborhoods,” said Killion.  “It will also result in cleaner waterways,” he added.

Killion said, “I have been a longtime supporter of PENNVEST.  I am glad that Chester’s families are able to benefit from this low cost infrastructure financing program offered by the state.”
